It seems like every time the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays roll around, everyone goes bananas for the holiday sales. People can’t wait to shop on Black Friday and on the day after Christmas, but what a lot of people don’t know is the best deals are the winter sales starting in January.

Yes, that means you’ll never stand in line anxiously waiting for the doors to open for the Black Friday sale. If you’ve never been Black Friday or day after Christmas shopping to experience the pandemonium, at least you can rest assured that you’re NOT missing out on a thing.

Here are a few things to rack up on for the winter.

Basics

When shopping for winter clothes, always shop for the essentials. They will last the longest and are the most versatile. Look for solid color long sleeved shirts, and button-up shirts, camisoles, and tank tops to layer. Shopping on trend will only lead to heart break due to the fleeting trends in the fashion industry. As Heidi Klum would say on Project Runway, one day you’re in and the next you’re out. Auf Wiederseshen! That’s why going back to the basics will give you the freedom to accessorize your pieces in different ways. Because making multiple outfits out of one piece is always a good idea.

Coats

Now is the time to get super excited, because you should see coats marked down as much as 70% OFF. If you are in the market for a new coat to keep you warm during the harsh winters, January is the best month to buy it.

Boots

The winter is the time of year where it is crucial to have shoes that will protect your feet i.e. rain boots, snow boots, combat boots.

They will keep your feet warm and are super durable.

Sweaters

January is the time to buy sweaters in bulk. You can opt for thick sweaters and/or cardigans. Whatever is your fancy, they will be marked down. So why not stock up for next year?

Accessories

If you’ve been eyeing a pair of gloves or that nice scarf in the department store this season, make sure you search for it now. Winter accessories will be half off during this time of the year, because the stores are clearing out their inventory for spring.

Remember– always shop for versatile pieces, because they can be used during the spring, and summer. Those chilly nights will leave you wanting your cardigan and those freezing indoor AC temps will have you craving your long-sleeved shirts.

Don’t forget your true to season winter clothes, because you have to stay warm above all else.
